One shirt. Hood. Face cover. Thumbholes. Full concealment.
That was the idea behind the newest SSCS hunting shirt lineup: take several pieces of coverage hunters normally think about separately and bring them together in one lightweight layer.
The result is the SSCS Men's Hooded Face-Cover Hunting Shirt with Thumbhole Sleeves — a 95% polyester / 5% spandex hunting layer with a built-in hood, integrated face cover and extended thumbhole sleeves. The fabric is 170 g/m², has stretch for movement, and is manufacturer-rated UPF 50+.
But the garment is only half of the story. The other half is what we put on it.
Camouflage That Keeps Going
One of the advantages of this style of shirt is simple: the camouflage does not have to stop at the neck or wrist.
The pattern can run from the torso into the sleeves, over the wrists, up through the hood and across the built-in face cover. That gives the camouflage a more complete path around the hunter without automatically adding a separate hood, face mask or pair of gloves just to cover exposed areas.
The thumbhole sleeves extend coverage onto the hands while leaving the fingers free. The integrated face cover can be pulled up when more coverage is wanted, and the hood adds another layer around the head and neck.
It is not complicated. It is simply a garment designed to make the camouflage work across more of the hunter.
Different Country Needs Different Camouflage
SSCS has never been about forcing one camouflage pattern into every kind of hunting terrain. These shirts are being offered across patterns designed for very different places.
Meltdown, Fallout, Thicket, Vanish and Pinewood carry the shirt into thick woodland, reclaimed clear-cuts, pine cover, tangled growth and late-season brush.
Saber-Tooth, Mountain Lion and RidgeRock take the same garment into western and high-country terrain, from broken timber and foothills to rocky ridges and exposed country.
Black Briar and Void move into darker cover — creek bottoms, swamp edges, heavy brush and broken shadow.
Mallard Grass brings the design into marshes, reeds, flooded timber and other waterfowl country.
The garment stays consistent. The camouflage changes with the country.
Designed Around How Hunters Actually Dress
A lot of hunting clothing is treated like a stack of unrelated pieces. Shirt. Mask. Hood. Gloves. Neck covering. Each one solves a small part of the same problem.
This shirt takes a different approach by combining several of those coverage points into one layer.
The built-in face cover is there when you want it. The hood stays with the shirt. The thumbhole sleeves extend the pattern farther down the hands. And because the fabric is lightweight and flexible, the shirt can work as a standalone warm-weather layer or as part of a larger layering system when conditions cool down.
That kind of versatility is exactly why this garment made sense for SSCS.
The Pattern Still Matters Most
No shirt design can make weak camouflage strong. The garment still has to carry a pattern that belongs in the terrain around it.
That is where the SSCS philosophy stays the same.
SSCS designs camouflage to match what hunting country actually looks like.
The hood, face cover and thumbhole sleeves simply give those patterns more room to do their job visually — across more of the hunter and with fewer breaks where exposed skin or solid-color accessories would otherwise appear.
Built Into the Shirt. Designed Into the System.
The new SSCS Men's Hooded Face-Cover Hunting Shirts are available in sizes S through 5XL, with the same core garment offered across multiple SSCS camouflage environments.
If you hunt thick cover, pine woods, dark creek bottoms, western country, rocky terrain or marsh habitat, there is now a version designed around that kind of ground.
Finally, Camouflage Done Right.
SSCS. We’ve got you covered!
